R.O.U.S....

ROUS! ..or Rodents of Unusual Size. We discovered that we have rats or mice in our house. Off and on, we've had issues. But, they declared war when they decided to attack the carpet to the bedroom! They must DIE! Actually, we discovered a dead one right outside our backyard door. It looked like a giant hamster, asleep. Fortunately, it wasn't alive. I wasn't looking forward to knowing how A. would kill it. But, it was HUGE. It freaked me out a bit, I'm just hoping that's the only large one. Maybe the small ones could be easily found and killed. Maybe I'll borrow Sam's cat!! I think he'd take care of all of them. So, right now we're having a grand ol' time setting the traps and whatnot. Blech. I can't wait until we're all organized again.

On another note, got to ride in the Corvette this weekend, thanks to Sam! It was a lot of fun, enjoyed my scrapbooking weekend. I love the fact that the whole weekend is catered! That makes it even more relaxing! All you have to do all weekened is scrap. No need to dress nicely or look one's best - it's just trying to get pages and layouts done. I do have to say it's interesting to be surrounded by seven moms.. and hearing their stories. Quite entertaining. Can't wait to go back for some more!

geek vs. nerd...

I'm such a geek. Or nerd.. or both?! I have an issue with privacy and the Internet. I like to be as anonymous as possible. Which is probably one reason why you'll hardly ever see any pictures of actual people on my flickr account - although, there are a few. Just not great people pictures. That may change later. I dunno. There's a lot of good China pictures that are people pictures and I'd like to share those.. so I probably will change my stance on that. But, in general I like to be stealth. Or I like to fool myself.

Anyways, I woke up sick again last night. I hate hate waking up sick, knowing that you're waking up because something in your body is just not right. Yet, you don't quite know what it is, in the sleepy haze.. and you're regretting the lack of sleep as you look at the time. I knew what was going on, stupid infections. It didn't help, having that knowledge. I knew I had to see the Doc, I knew I wouldn't be able to do that until 9am. A whole whoping 6hrs. away. So, bath time. Yes, I take baths whenever I'm sick. It just makes me feel better. Probably doesn't do anything good, but it sorta calms my mind. Anyways, around 7ish am I decided to take something for the pain. At this time, I've only had water in my system. About 20 minutes later, I lost all the water I had been consuming. It was gross, I didn't even make it to the bathroom. Poor kitchen suffered. Although, I have to admit - throwing up water is much better than throwing up half way digested food. Ok, that was a bit disgusting. The body still amazes me sometimes, how it deals with retching. But, that's another subject for another day. Thankfully, I got my antibiotics by 10:30am and was on my way of feeling better. Although, I didn't really start to feel better until the end part of my day. It was a bit stressful until then.

I'm now happy that tomorrow is Friday and I can get a decent night's rest.

Life used to be simple

...and easy...breezy.. peasy. Right now, life is so full of drama - I'm sure that I could sell it to a soap opera and House would be watching it in between patients! Ok, I adore House. Hugh ..Hugh..

On to another subject... my first accident occurred Monday. I have to say, thank goodness for insurance. I have nothing but praise for mine, they made life so simple - it's hard to believe. I have other words for my agent. He has yet to call back, after 3 messages. Time for a new agent? Blech. I'll give him a week, since it's not vital. But, after that... I'll have a talk with A. about a new contact. My poor truck, it was bound to have happened. After 6 years of no real damage - this one year has been filled with situations that left bruises on it. The last one, I'd say was a mass concussion. Anyways, insurance will deal with it and it's under warrenty for the rest of it's life. Yay. Although, if something else happens to it.. I'm not sure if I'll be alive to tell the tale.

Fantasy baseball

Fantasy baseball is coming up. The usual suspects are playing, except this year I volunteered to be the 'Commish.' I don't mind the administration part, I don't care if people bitch or whine at me - I can be stubborn. Talk to A. about that one. Anyways, the one weekend I stated I can't do the draft is next weekend. It's the one weekend that a certain couple who happened to move back east request. It bugs me, but A. can draft for me if everyone agrees to the date. That's the hard part, getting everyone to agree on a draft date. Well, if they agree on Sunday night or late afternoon - I may be able to show up. The tuff part will be getting funds from everyone for the baseball PLUS league. That's not hard for the locals, but I don't want to be begging half way into the season for it.

We'll see.

Costco is cool

I'm trying out Costco's print thingy with my digital pictures. It's affordable, I'm curious on the quality. I'll find out Monday! These are my back up pictures for this weekend. I could do more backpacking ones, but so far... those scrap book pages far outweigh any of the other ones. So, Disneyland and Scotland it is.. if I'm lucky, I'll add China too!

We shall see.

Scrapbooking

I'm excited. Next weekend, I'm going away for a scrapbook weekend. It's fun, the only drawback is that I'm not sure how many pictures I'll have to actually scrapbook. There are some from Scotland and some from China that I wouldn't mind scrappin'. In order to do that though, I'll have to bug Mr. A. to get out CS and work on his pictures! For now, I'll post one from Scotland that I took. I don't alter my pictures, but then again, mine aren't as spectacular as A. I need another name for A. Maybe Paladin. He is a white knight of sorts... and he was a knight-ish character when I met him. Fortunately, he's going to pick up his brother this weekend! Unfortunately, no time to actually work on pictures. Hmm... maybe I'll just end up chattin' the rest of the group up!

Here's Scotland (this picture is of a castle that was actually used in the first Highlander movie!)

Just a small poll

Does ... bug people? It seems to drive some people buggy, but to me - it's as natural as apple pie!
I love to add the ... actually, I think it's how my mind works. I'm tangental, so the ... just means that I'm drifting to another subject. It's not necessarily a period or a stop, more like a run on sentence. I'm so glad I can have bad grammer habits in a blog. Where can you have them if you can't have them here?

Ideal..

Here's a place I wouldn't mind working at... ok, T.. don't kill me for saying this, but it sorta reminds me of the Wild Animal Park. Anyways, this is the place where my oldest bro. works. Can you imagine the views? The roof garden(s)? Seems pretty darn cool. I wish we had windows like this at my work. Course, in the winter time... you get to view the lushness of snow snow snow snow.. and more snow. In the summertime, you get to view .. I'm not sure what you get to view actually. Can't wait to go to MA to view it firsthand.

Havasupai...

Here's an awesome waterfall that we saw last time we were there... the smallest by far, but I thought one of the prettiest. At least photography wise. Granted, A. took some really great shots. This is just one of my snapshots off of my digital camera. The water there is so clear, so bright, and so freakin' cold. I found that place fascinating. It had the most interesting environment. Desert, lots o' greenery, red rock, trees, and lots o' water! You can hike from there to the Grand Canyon. Maybe one of these days I'll do that.

*note: I had no idea you could so easily upload pictures into this blog. I'll be addicted to this feature soon enough.

Hobbies..

I think are the downfall of humanity!! Ok, so that's a bit far stretched. I will say that hobbies make you broke. There are so many cool things to buy, I just can't buy any of 'em right now.. but I do have my lists. Right now, the Jetboil is on the top of my list. It's light, it's easy, no need for matches, and ... did I say it was light? Alas, REI is calling out to me.

On a side note to camping, what kind of dog would be good to take on camping trips - maybe a lab? a husky? a malmute (ok, I love those dogs).. one of these days I'm going to get a puppy. Just not sure when that day will come.

Blogging software...

Ok, so I'm not a real blogger. I haven't been one since.. well, ever. I admit, I'm a faker! In reality, I've debated too much how to use blogs and what I want from them that I just don't write anything too meaningful. At least not here.

So, my debate.. Blogspot vs. Livejournal. I think LJ wins. Yet, here I am using blogspot anyways.

Anyways, what's new here? I learned to smear at Joshua Tree last weekend. That was a lot of fun and challenging. I've decided I prefer and always will prefer to edge.. but it's good to know other techniques. I went with my sis in law and we had a great time, even gambled a bit afterwards! I earned just enough to pay for my gas. I was happy with that. I'm too risk averse to gamble big. She's a natural at both.. and it's always interesting to see what life's like as a 26 year old again. Hopefully we'll take some future classes, at least up to the part where we can learn how to setup anchors in the real world. It'd be nice to have that freedom to be able to climb whenever outside. Ugh..I'm tangenting .. as per usual.
