Wine?

I've learned tonight that blogging after I have wine, just makes me want to use '...' all the more.

... in fact, I can't seem to help myself, I must include it an entry! I wrote one on going up to Sacramento for a wedding. It was quite an experience and I believe we're better for having it. It was awfully nice, and just plain acceptance and love that we were intertwined with a family up north who is a part of Mister LD2 and his brother's life. But, have been missed for the last 25 years or so. Anyways, God is good and I'm thankful and grateful to have been able to go up to the ranch and wedding.

... there's a lot of holes in this entry. I'll try and flesh it out at a later date...

According to this, there's going to be a World of Warcraft movie... craziness!!

uh...the Deadmines... Onyxia.... Shaman vs. Paladin.. who will be the victor?!?

C'mon Derrek Lee.. C'mon Chris Young...

I feel bad, I mean it sucked. Watching the game on TV, seeing what Marcus Giles must have seen to react so fast. First you see D. Lee step towards the mound, then you see C. Young point to first, and then you see Derrek throw a punch. Mistake. Big mistake. This is baseball guys, not hockey! The papers describe both as class acts, both pretty gentle giants (they're both quite tall). I'm biased, just cuz I know more about CY, then D. Lee. I do like D. Lee, he's a great 1st baseman, good offense. But, give me a break! Don't go throwing punches at our starting pitcher! It was an accident. If it was Peavy... possibly .. maybe it wouldn't be after Soriano's antics on Friday. He's more of an emotional pitcher (we love him that way), but C.Y. is usually more calm and collected. Also, if D. Lee has seen tape on C.Y. - he'd know that he hits batters at times cuz he pitches to them inside. Sometimes, that inside is just a hare too close.

Anyways, I just hope it doesn't carry over to today. It botches up the game, it may take the Cubs only real offense (I guess I should count Soriano, since he does get paid like $36 million) outta their lineup. For a Cubs fan, that must suck! For us Padres fans, we don't want to see our batters hit in retaliation and we don't want our pitchers missing out on games.

So.. just play the freakin' game.

Rock Climbing, etc...

I found on RC.com that REI has some classes that are pretty affordable coming up. I think I'm going to check it out, K. and I have been talking for awhile to go back to Joshua Tree for climbing. It's good exercise, it's challenging, and it's fun. I'd like to get better and hopefully one of these days learn how to do all the ropes outside. Real rock can't compete with the gym. That'll be towards the end of the month.

Next week, we're driving up to Sacramento and back for a wedding. Hmm, since that's around our anniversary; maybe I'll plan for something for the weekend after or something. Next year is our big TEN year anniversary! Big plans for that one!! But for now, I'm still kinda scheming to go up to Ashland for the weekend or something. Maybe late August or early September.

Side note, Padres must be in 1st place by July 14th! Ok, that's a lot of pressure on the guys - but I know they can do it!! :)

Hoffman and 500!!

Yeah Baby!!! Way to go .. Trevor!! Seriously, Congrats to Trevor Hoffman!! 500 saves, that's freakin' amazing! I'm so stoked that he stayed in San Diego and he continues to be the best of the best. He's not only the all time saves leader, but he's got great character and he's wonderful in the community!

Anyways, Congrats and here's to 500 more!!

BP and Joe Montana

That's right folks, Joe Montana and a Dr. are going around talking about the dangers of high blood pressure! It's a rather short presentation, but it's good to be aware of the dangers... I couldn't believe the amount of people who had high BP, if you have it, go see the Doc right away!! Anyways, they gave out cool footballs with Joe's signature on it if you asked a question. I had to rack my brain for a good one that wasn't dorky.. and by that time, they were out. People cheated though, in my opinion. They asked him football questions. :P He made a nice joke at the Charger's expense when someone couldn't catch the football that he threw... overall, he seemed like a great guy. I could see why sports celebrities go out and spread the word on things like this - I think they definitely reach a wider audience than some.

St. John...

We're traveling to the US Virgin Islands this January. It should be loads of fun! I'm nervous though, we haven't gone on a vacation since Scotland/China in 2004. Those trips were AWESOME, but a little on the chilly side. Now it's time for warm waters, yah baby!! I can't wait to snorkel or scuba in warm waters, something I haven't done since college. In fact, I went to St. John with my family the year I meet Mister LD2. great Christmas, but it was humid as heck! I'm looking forward to going back. But, along with Christmas break this year and that trip, I think my vacation time is all taken. Something I miss from my old job, the three weeks were nice; especially since I had loads of days saved from previous years. Aww, well.
