Some more posts on mobile devices...

Here's a blog where I just ramble about it... and about Stargate Atlantis. Which I have a mild obsession right now. My main obsession is still Dune.

Read my boring posts here.

Mobile Devices ..cont.

Due to a request, here's some thoughts on mobile devices. I actually created a blog where I posted a few posts on Flash Lite and my thoughts on it.

Anyways, in regards to Flash Lite... I think there's some really great opportunities for it. The drawback is that some phones have it and some don't. The versioning is confusing and the popular phones don't have it. My gripe, the iPhone does not have Flash .. *at all* Neither does the Blackberry. That's a drawback. Some newer phones that are coming out will have the entire Flash player on it, so that will be awesome for Flash coders. No need for Flash Lite then. The other issue with Flash Lite is deployment.. so right now, it's on the back burner for us.

So, after about a weeks worth of research or whatnot on Flash Lite; I'm having an interesting time researching just how to develop a site for mobile without anything fun and jazzy as Flash. The drawback is that a lot of the information is waaaaaaaaaaaaay old. But, for now I'm going to do something quite simple and draw up a very very very simplistic prototype and launch it. That'll make some people happy. Then we'll see what we can do from there.

We shall see.. I'll post more stuff later...

Mobile Devices...

I'm psyched that we're going to be developing more mobile devices.. but I'm a little stressed on how to go about it. Especially the applications. There's no standard at work on mobile devices yet.. and there is no flash player yet for Blackberries. Those are a bit popular...

We'll see how it goes...

BTW, if anyone wants a book recommendation.. I highly recommend Dune! I'm hooked. I sorta went backwards though. I read Children of Dune first.

Freakin' IDIOT!

When I wrote the title, I was thinking of Napoleon Dynamite.

I did something stupid, or possibly stupid. I ran across a blog of someone and found out that he and his wife adopted three children from SK (which is also where I was adopted from).. and he and his wife asked me to share my point of view of adoption in an email.

I went off on a bit of a tangent. I'm wondering if I freaked them out, I haven't seen or heard of a reply since. It sorta gave them a background history of myself (without giving away any real personal information) and the adoption and how I felt about it growing up and now as an adult -- which is what they really wanted to know.

Anyways, I feel like a dolt.

Welp...

I'm in Chicago! The lovely Windy city! Actually, it has been quite windy. Not too warm, not too cold. Just about right temp. wise. It has rained a couple of days, but not until well after midnight. For the most part, it's been a lot of fun. A lot of new information from Adobe's conference... which is always great. I finally tried the Wii! It was a lot of fun, I must admit. I almost won the tennis match!! Alas, it wasn't meant to be. Maybe it was the Heinken that I had been drinking. *G* Nah. Although, the drinking did start a bit early last night. Hmm, 5pm. They started the open bar before the sneak peaks! For the most part, those were a lot of fun.

So, the weather has been good.. the conference has been good... the sports.. uh.. that's another story. How freakin' painful was it to watch the Padres lose to the Rockies! Actually, I didn't watch the very end. I couldn't stand to watch after they hit a double off of Trevor. Man, that sucked. But, I can't justifibly blame Hoffman for the game. They really battled and tried, it's not like it was a 0-8 game or something. Trevor has been awesome this year, so he's slipped for a few games.. who hasn't. If you want to talk about massive collapse - it wasn't the Padres, it was the NY Mets!! What happened to that team? *snicker* I feel for those fans. I do.. really. Uhm.. Billy Wagner had a massive meltdown in comparison to Hoffman.

Anyways, heading home tomorrow.. having an interesting time packing! I did manage to lug my toy to the windy city. Amazingly, it's all intact, yay!! (toy == laptop ... see previous post as to what it looks like). I have never brought home so many free t-shirts in my life! :)

... and then a busy weekend with friends from AZ coming to town. Maybe we'll actually ride Nemo at Disneyland.
