The rather large vendor went down, in a heap of flames, smoke, and ashes. They've had two chances with preliminary talks [which, I'm glad we had; it would have sucked if they did a demo and wasted our time for 90 min] and so far, they have no idea on whether we can use them or not. They can't even answer the most basic questions, can we use them .. utilizing a different platform other than Java. Their response to this question was amazing. They have yet to try to sell their product to anyone who uses .NET, Perl, PHP, ColdFusion, Or any other language. The .NET really surprised me, it surprised me even more that they had no real idea of how to even implement it without using Java. I see now why the companies who are language agnostic are the ones with the gold stars. They prepare for anyone and everyone. Good job guys. Big vendor, go learn from the little guys. Until then, see ya.
